Mia Marcelle is a Naarm (Melbourne) born musician, singer and producer. Their music blends experimental electronic synth, with lo-fi folk music, to make uniquely warm, nostalgic and genre-defying downtempo-pop. Mia grew up in a creative household, with Improvised Trumpeter Scott Tinkler and Visual Artist Veronica Kent as parents, they were creating and experimenting from a young age. Dedicated to a DIY and community-first approach, Mia’s music career sees them constantly pushing themselves into new directions, moods and scenes; writing music that playfully and authentically shares their inner world. Before embarking on a solo project, they were key singer/songwriter for Doona Waves, and have played guitar/keys in a number of mainstay local bands. During their time living away from their hometown between Brisbane and Alice Springs, Mia Marcelle created and released two of their first solo EP’s; ‘Under This’ (2021) recorded at Bakehouse Studios and ’Soft Love’ self-recorded (2024).Since releasing ‘Soft Love’, their music has been played across Triple R, FBI radio, and Triple Z, Mia performed at Big Sound (then as ‘Charly’), and opened for the likes of Julia Jacklin, Good Morning, Floodlights and Acopia. In late 2023, Mia landed an international artist residency opportunity at ‘Pocoapoco’ in Mexico where they began developing their debut full-length album.
