second press ABN 92 553 169 137 (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the second press music streaming platform at secondpress.com.au and the second press iOS app. we are based in australia and subject to the privacy act 1988 (cth) and the australian privacy principles (APPs).

we collect the following personal information:

• account information: email address, first name, last name, display name, username
• profile information: profile photo, bio (optional)
• usage data: listening history, playlists created, artists followed, search queries
• payment information: processed securely by stripe. we store your stripe customer ID but never your card details.
• device information: device type, operating system, app version (collected automatically)

• to provide and maintain the streaming service
• to process subscriptions and payments
• to calculate and distribute artist royalties based on listening data
• to personalise your experience (recently played, recommendations)
• to send transactional emails (welcome, subscription status, payment issues)
• to respond to support requests

we do not sell your personal information. we share data with:

• supabase (database and authentication), servers in australia/singapore
• stripe (payment processing), servers in the united states
• resend (transactional email), servers in the united states
• vercel (hosting), servers in australia/united states

aggregated, anonymised listening data is shared with artists and labels to report streaming activity. this data cannot identify individual users.

we retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. if you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it (e.g., financial records for tax purposes).

under the privacy act 1988, you have the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you
• request correction of inaccurate information
• request deletion of your account and personal data
• opt out of marketing communications

we use essential cookies for authentication and session management. we do not use advertising trackers or sell data to third parties. we may use analytics tools to understand how the app is used.

we use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication tokens, and row-level security on our database. payment processing is handled entirely by stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant provider.

second press is not intended for children under 13. we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

we may update this policy from time to time. we will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
